    Job Description
    This position is responsible for promoting library services in the community through outreach outside of the library. Through coordinating outreach, volunteers, and delivering services to the homebound, this position’s emphasis is that of community engagement. In cooperation with the library’s Adult Coordinator, Youth Services and Public Services Librarians, works to expand the library’s programs, attends various community events, and assists on the floor when needed.
    General duties:
    • Supervises, organizes, and provides outreach and home delivery to the homebound.
    • Assists patrons, volunteers, and other staff members with all library activities, including, but not limited to: circulation tasks, telephone and reference work, computer instruction and troubleshooting.
    • Promotes library programs, services, and resources by visiting local groups, organizations, and events to promote library services, materials, and programs. 
    • Engages with local organizations and individuals in communities to develop and maintain partnerships.
    • Coordinates the library’s volunteers including recruitment, training, communication, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications: You must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided for outreach). A Masters degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) or experience working in libraries is preferred. A background check will be required. You must be able to load heavy materials, set up tables, canopies and chairs, as well as other physical activities when setting up for outreach events.
    Schedule: This position will be scheduled for 40-hours per week. May require evening and weekend hours as needed.
    Benefits: As a full-time position, this position is eligible for some benefits including paid holidays, paid time-off (including sick), health insurance, and retirement. The pay for this position will vary between $18-$22 an hour, depending on experience.
