    Jacobs Creek Park - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    Canyon Park

    Canyon Park is a 485-acre park located on the north shore of Canyon Lake near Hancock. This lakefront park is currently open from April 1 - September 30 on a first come, first serve basis. This is a day use only park (no overnight camping); reservations are not required. Canyon Park offers 104 picnic sites with grills, 3 pavilions available for rent, and one 3 lane boat ramp with a courtesy dock. Personal grills are not allowed.

    Canyon Swim Beaches #1 and # 2

    Canyon Swim Beaches  # 1 and # 2 are located on the north shore of Canyon Lake near Hancock and are open as day use facilities only.

     
    Swim Beach #1 has a large sand beach with grills, picnic sites, soccer goals, and a sand volleyball court. Personal grills are not allowed. This beach is open from April 1 – September 30.
     

    Swim Beach #2 has a small sand beach. Personal grills are allowed. This beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day on weekends only.

    Directions to Canyon Park and Canyon Swim Beaches 1 & 2

    From IH 35 take exit No. 191 north of New Braunfels. Drive west on FM 306 for 20 miles. Turn left on Canyon Park Road. (Right before Brookshire Brothers)

    Coming from US 281, turn east on FM 306 for 12 miles. Turn right on Canyon Park Road. (The first road after Brookshire Brothers.)

    Canyon Park is located at the very end of Canyon Park Road past the marina entrance.

    Swim Beach # 1 is located approximately one mile on the left of Canyon Park Road.

    Swim Beach # 2 is located approximately one mile on the right of Canyon Park Road.

    Comal Park

    Comal Park is a 116-acre park located on the south shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. This lakefront park is currently open from March though October on a first come, first serve basis. This is a day use only park (no overnight camping); reservations are not required. Comal Park offers over 70 picnic sites, grills, two double-lane boat ramps with courtesy docks, a large swim beach, children’s playground, sand volleyball court, and soccer goals. Personal grills are not allowed.

    From IH 35, take FM 306 Exit 191 just north of New Braunfels for 14 miles to FM 2673. Turn left onto FM 2673 and continue west on FM 2673 for 8 miles to the Dairy Queen in Startzville. Turn right on to Canyon Bend.  Follow the signs to the park for an additional two miles.

    Coming from US Highway 281, take Highway 46 East past Smithson Valley High School and turn left on FM 3159.  Continue on FM 3159 for 6.7 miles. Turn left on to FM 2673 in Startzville. Continue on FM 2673 for 1/2 mile. Turn right at the Dairy Queen on to Canyon Bend.  Follow the signs to the park for an additional two miles.
