Addressing the Needs of the News Hungry World, WeatherBug Data Now Available via Really Simple Syndication

Germantown, MD — October 19, 2005 — WeatherBug, the leading provider of live, local weather information services, today announced the immediate availability of its neighborhood-level information via Really Simple Syndication (RSS).

Accessible via any RSS reader such as Newsburst, Pluck, Rojo and others, users are now able to tap into the world’s largest exclusive network of weather stations to receive:

  • Live current conditions from one of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations across the U.S.
  • Daily forecasts
  • Exclusive news stories from WeatherBug Meteorologists
  • WeatherBug Hall of Fame photos submitted by WeatherBug users.

“RSS has become increasingly popular, and now millions of users use one of the many excellent RSS readers to pull the very information they seek in real-time,” said Chris McCown, VP of Product at WeatherBug. “We alone have live weather conditions from precisely where Americans actually live and work, so we felt the need to ensure that our data is available through this new, powerful channel.”
