Message from our Executive Director......
Several people have asked, “What new things does the chamber have planned for 2012”? I am very excited about the changes that we are making to our website and the benefit that it will serve in our area. It is important to the Chamber to listen to your needs and then take the appropriate action that would best serve the community. We are upgrading our Website with an interactive map and live web-cams that would show current conditions of the lake and the river. A common concern is how difficult it is just to find where a business is located. Because of our unique layout of the lake and the river, this is a challenge that we wanted to take on. The Chamber will be adding an interactive map with a built in business directory for our members. Besides showing exactly where a business is located, this interactive map will provide expanded functionality that traditional maps cannot offer. Some of the features include a pop-up point of interest highlights, complete with images, videos details and links. The map will also allow trip planners the ability to create and share customized itineraries. These are only a few of the features that the interactive map will offer. But be assured, people coming to Canyon Lake will find it fun, easy-to-use and offer our visitors powerful tools to help them plan a trip or find where to go next. This past year there have been a lot of news reports that gave misinformation to the public. Mainly that Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River has dried up and there was no reason to come to our community. As we all know, “we have water”. To combat this “misinformation”, the Chamber will also be adding two web cameras to the front page of our website. One of the cameras will be looking out over the lake and the other showing the river. Both cameras will be high definition showing a live picture that will update every 30 seconds. By doing this we will let the whole world know, “We have water!” The Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is working hard to serve our members and our community. We are always striving to improve ways to get the word out about how great our community is. Our Visitor & Relocation Guide is also getting a face lift in order to better show case and accommodate the growing need for information for our area. For a very limited time, you can still get in the full color and glossy 2012 Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Visitor and Location Guide. Please contact the Chamber immediately, the cutoff date is Feb. 15th, 2012. I hope everyone has a great 2012 and please contact the Canyon Lake Area Chamber at (830) 964-2223 or toll free (800) 528-2104 on how we can assist you and your business. About our area ......
